Along the path to a perfect basement…

When last we left our hero, the basement dog room was painted but empty. On Friday, a gigundous truck showed up and dumped four big boxes in our garage. So today was a day of a lot of progress.

  1. MUST HAVE! I love how it doubles as a child containment system! Man, there’s days I really feel I need that! ;0P

I can’t wait to grow up, and have indoor kennel runs! I’m living out the dreams of when I grow up through your blog now! haha

  2. I cannot tell you how jealous I am of this set up. When I think of the rescue work we could accomplish with this sort of thing in-house…well, one of these days.

  3. I really, really like what you have been doing with the renovation and I’m sure you’ve mentioned this before but where did you get the kennels from? My husband is an Architect and I am a Landscape Architect and we constantly disagree on our “dogscaping” but he would love the look of that system. Do you have a layout done for the outside runs or kennels? I’d love to include them in an upcoming book I’m writing.

    • They’re from Home Depot, actually – PetSafe Cottageview Kennels. They’re not as heavy-duty as the AKC Pro Breeder series (which are like crate wire, very thick) but they’re not bad. And the size (5 x 5) is very generous.

The outside won’t be divided into runs. It’s a little hard to explain how it will be divided, but I’ll post pics as it goes up.
